Great physique comes from exercise and right diet: BUT HOW?

Having into strength exercise routines these past months, I have learned a great deal about the positive effects of regular workout and the right diet in enhancing my overall physique. Not only did I discover diets that work, I had also figured out the best way to lose weight through effective diet meal plans.

Whether you are fat or thin, acquiring the physique you aspire will only manifest if you learn to discipline yourself to eat the appropriate foods as well subjecting your body to physical activities that is conducive to sexiness and healthiness.

Do you remember those instances when you encounter someone with a beautiful body? Be it a he or a she, we ask ourselves how did those people managed to have such an envious physique. Some of us even think that they were born that way, but the truth however is that most of them have worked hard to acquire such form.

Having a great physique follows a really simple principle: your body corresponds to what you eat and the activities you subject it into. Don’t expect to have a healthy and attractive physique if you don’t align your actions towards it. While it is very much enticing to be sluggish and voracious, it can have its toll as time goes by. Therefore it is wise to consider our health while we are capable; not only does it have long term benefits, but it can also make us feel good about ourselves.

Since a good physique manifests good health, let me share with you some of the things I have learned about fitness.

In my experience, if you want to have a healthy and attractive physique, you should take heed of the following:

Look at the mirror each day until you finally see how unattractive your body is

This is crucial: we cannot make a change unless we admit to ourselves that we need to. We humans are terribly blind with our flaws, and unless it hits us on the face, we wouldn’t really do something about it. Though we may admit to ourselves that our bodies are less than ideal, being passive about it is a manifestation of denial.

DECIDE that you want to be fit and find the discipline

Once you acknowledge the unhealthy form of your body, the next things to do is decide to do something about it. Make a plan of action that will bring a positive shift and commit to it. Beware though, procrastination is your greatest enemy here; resist the urge to be defeated.

Find a local gym and start your fitness routine

Finding a gym can be very easy, yet the real challenge is doing the exercise. The routine can be stressful and painful, and only a strong motivation can overcome these discouraging factors. My advice is to find a powerful reason that will keep you coming back to your exercise routine—otherwise, laziness will get into the picture. In my case, my powerful motivator is my longing for an attractive physique. Imagine how good it feels having people admire your good form, or perhaps the great feeling when your apparels fits right into place, or even more is the energizing feeling of being in top shape. Think of all the benefits and let it fuel of your motivation.

And what about the right exercise?

The gym instructor would provide you with these answers.

Find the right diet; be strict but not too much

There are certain foods that can help a lot to get us in top form. While some of them may not be appealing to our appetite, they prove to be very beneficial to our bodies.

Here are some of them:

Oatmeal – the fiber in oatmeal helps in losing weight as well as lowers blood cholesterol. Plus it makes you feel full much longer, thus preventing you from binging.

Green tea – contains high concentrations of catechin polyphenols that intensifies fat oxidation. Drinking green tea regularly will increase your metabolism and help burn fat safely and naturally. Green tea also causes carbohydrates to be released slowly, preventing sharp increases in blood-insulin levels. I recommend taking 2-3 bags of green tea each day, preferably early in the day.

Fruits and vegetables – the best and clean sources vitamins and minerals, and most of all, they are all natural.

Protein supplement – a regular supply of high quality protein on one’s diet helps in metabolizing fats and building quality muscles. If the exercise of your choice includes weight training, protein supplement is a must to get maximum result. The typical recommendation of protein intake varies from 0.5 gram of protein per pound of body weight to 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight. I recommend you find out what dosage will work for you, if the dosage you take does not provide any result then it’s appropriate to increase it.

As I have said, be strict but not too much. By this I mean to indulge yourself on the foods you love—be it healthy or unhealthy. This method would help you eliminate those unnecessary cravings and let this be a reward for all your efforts. However, you should do this less often, perhaps once a week.  And most of all have the discipline to stick with your healthy diet pattern.

Having a great physique can boost one’s confidence. If you want to feel good about yourself, then embrace a healthy habit. Like what I’ve said, a good physique is a manifestation of good health (of course with the exception of those who got it through artificial means). In these disease infested times a healthy body would be our greatest asset.

Now I turn to you. What do you feel about your body today? :-)

Finding it hard to even start with your goals?

  2. Walter, I like this. I particularly like how it’s not just a “feel good about yourself and you’ll get stronger” post. We all need to look in the mirror sometimes (literally and figuratively) and own our flaws. It’s the first step in getting rid of them.

Good post, man. Thanks for visiting my site as well! Have a great day!

  3. Great article. “Looking at yourself” in the mirror is not just relevant to the physical, but also the emotional side of us. I agree with Bryan – until you recognise our own flaws (and lets face it – who doesn’t have one or two…), you are unable to make the changes needed.

Just like with diet and exercise, sometimes we need to regulate the amount of “toxins” we allow into and out of our mind – healthy body and healthy mind for me :)

I manage to do push ups each day to keep my body going but discipline is the real killer. Especially having the motivation to push your body just that one step further. That’s not easy to achieve.
