I’m an “aspiring” blogger & I keep seeing you need “passion” & “uniqueness” in order to make it and especially stand out from the crowd. However when your passion is about “succeeding on the Internet” if you look around there’s a zillion me to blogs, so I’m struggling with the uniqueness part.

Slinger – your post is true about life in general and not just blogging. In order to rise above the crowd in anything requires constant reading and learning from the great teachers.
Great leaders teach us how to recognize and embrace our own talents and strengths.Only by stepping out or our comfort zones can we truly soar.

I’m happy to see that I am on the right path! What I’ve been most pleased by is how many wonderful and supportive people there are in cyberspace.

I used to think it was an impersonal way to communicate and I am delighted to discover that I was inaccurate. As in life, there are so many awesome people.

My commencement speech in high school was based on Thoreau’s A Different Drummer. It was about marching to your own drum. I totally believe in pursuing our own unique path.

I have found that blogging is a great way to do this.

And passion! Well, it is a MUST or why bother.

Hi Walter,
just looking back at some of your older posts and found this (thanks for commenting on my blog this week, I’m so glad I followed your link back here).

I’m still very much a learner in the blogging world and sometimes struggle for inspiration, but I loved your comment about reading good books. I’ve always been and avid reader, so hopefully when the inspiration does strike I will at least have the words at my command.
