Success comes in chunks

winning

It is my dream to write and share my insights to many people. Once in a while I grab some interesting books to expand my knowledge. I also tried writing but it came difficult; the few words I eked defeated my will to pursue. How easy it is to dream; how hard it is to make an effort— but more difficult it is the gall of failure.

As with ordinary people I settle down to daydreaming, leaping myself in an imaginary time and place where I reap the fruits of my success. It takes some time before I realize I’m making much effort dreaming and resenting. Come to think of it, if I worked on my dream with the same dedication as I spend on my daydreaming I could have made some progress. How I wasted my time.

Many are unaware of this simple truth. Yes, it’s easy to dream, but it’s a waste of creative energy. We dream with passion, why not channel those same passions in fulfilling that dream? Successful individuals didn’t make their fortunes just by dreaming, they spend each day working for the fulfillment of their goal. Instead of imagining what you should have been, why not think of ways to bring yourself one step closer.

If someone asked you if you can build a castle, your mind will be immediately overwhelmed by its enormousness. It’s impossible. Your mind will resign to the fact that it can’t be done. However, if you see the little portions that constitute the structure– rather than the finished structure– you’ll realize you can actually build it! Of course, few people see things this way.

In any endeavor we wish to attain, we should see things in a different light. Rather than the grand, let’s examine the chunks that made it possible. A business tycoons’ empire was not built in a day. In each precious day he makes the practice of finding little opportunities that he sees fit as a building block for his goal; to this tycoon there’s no other way but success.

What was once a difficult task of writing I can now do with ease. How? I studied the craft of writing; I studied the meanings of words I’ve never encountered before. With these building blocks I formed my base; then, equally important—practice. With each passing day of practice I was surprised of my improvements. Truly, you can make anything happen if you put your mind into it.

Just do it.

  1. By taking your major project, dividing it int pieces it decreases the perception of difficulty. Thing begin to seem lighter than once perceived. Persistence is one of the keys to reaching your goals. Keep the vision and success is sure to find its way to you.

Thank you Jonathan for taking the time to read my post. Many people sees success as a whole in itself; that’s why they are overwhelmed by the thought of pursuance. Little did they know that all great things comes from small beginnings. :-)

    Hi mate, beautiful looking site.

A little picture to help remember to take on big tasks in small chunks: Think of the snow covered elephant.

How would you go about eating an elephant – in small pieces.

A snowflake is tiny and insignificant, but put a lot of them together and you have the power of an avalanche. 8)

Thank you Johnny. I’d like to keep my site as simple as possible so that my visitors will appreciate my messages.

Yes success would be difficult if you swallow it whole, but easy in little bits. :-)
