When I was young I was curious why people differ in many ways; some differences are stark it seems unfair. “Mother, how come our neighbors afford the things they wish and why can’t we?” “Dad why does my classmate Tom excels in every subject and I don’t?” These are some of the childish questions I asked my parents out of ignorance. Sometimes I feel despondent having been born lacking and the disadvantage for which I was thrust into this life. As I grew up questions got more convoluted. I was even more puzzled of why others are more blessed than I am; I didn’t occur to me there must be a caveat, some truths subliminal it’s hard to notice.
The virtue behind every achievement is the thing I’ve overlooked. My mind was fettered by envy of someone’s laurel that I was blind to see the work behind it. In search for answers I came to love the company of books. Slowly I was enlightened, until finally acquired an overwhelming wisdom about the works and wonders of ones mind– and the circumstances surrounding it.
I saw with great clarity the wisdom behind the maxim: “I think, therefore I am.”
Albert Einstein would not have been the greatest scientist had he allowed himself to the ridicules of his time. Abraham Lincoln could not have been the greatest president had he surrendered to the misfortunes of his life. Truly, self-limitation is the driving force that hinders the otherwise enormous potential of many a men and women striving in this ephemeral existence. Perhaps the greatest burden that imposes self-limitation is our own experiences in life. Our station in life could have been the shackles that prevents us from realizing our innate limitlessness.
Only YOU have the power to free yourself. Detach your mind from the limitations set forth by the bitterness of life. Let go of fear, doubt, hatred, envy and cynicisms—these are the weeds clouding your true capacity. Yes, it’s not that easy. These insidious poisons may have percolated into the innermost part of your soul. But as I have said, only you can do it.
It takes time of course. Get this: you’ll gain nothing by procrastination. But a little effort each day is a big leap— great things start from small beginnings. In the long run the negative forces that shackled your life will lose its influence.
Let your inherent creativeness unleash its ferocious wings, and take charge of your destiny. Believe it or not, you will make a major change in your life.
Go live your life in a different path, to your inner power; and despite the many challenges you face, rest assured that if you have power over yourself—anything will be possible.
Think about this…
“Believe that you are defeated, believe it long enough, and it is likely to become a fact.”
